Rillet uses API key authentication, so no OAuth application or partner credentials are required. Your customer will need to create an API key in Rillet and enter it on RootFi when prompted during the Rillet integration setup on RootFi’s Connect Link. These steps are elaborated upon in detail below.

Part 1: Get API Key

  1. Login to your Rillet dashboard and go to Settings.
  2. Under Organization, select ‘API Access’. Click ‘Create API key’, enter a name for the key and copy the generated key.
The API key must be Active, and must not be Read-only if you intend to write data back to Rillet through RootFi.

Part 2: Setting up the integration Using RootFi Connect

When your customer is connecting their Rillet account to RootFi, they will need to enter the following on RootFi’s invite link setup:
  1. API Key: The key generated in the above steps.
If the API key has access to more than one Rillet subsidiary, the customer is then asked to pick the subsidiary to sync. The selected subsidiary is stored on the connection as the organization_id connection variable. If the key has access to a single subsidiary, it is selected automatically and the connection completes right away.
